STEP #1 Become a Certified Tax Preparer (CTP) by taking the CTP Certifation Exam. STEP #2 Become a Certified Tax Preparer Specialist (CTPS) by successfully completing a Certification Exam in your chosen Specialty. STEP #3 Complete two additional Specialty Exam's. Each specialty examination is comprehensive and provides an opportunity to demonstrate your expertise in that particular area. The five specialties are: 1 - Exempt organizations 2 - Partnerships 3 - Corporations 4 - Estate, Fiduciaries, Gift Tax 5 - Tax Planning STEP #4 Apply for the Masters Program. The purpose of the Masters Program is to make a meaningful contribution to the tax preparation industry by completing a project that will be beneficial to all tax preparers. |
